This Georgian-Style Estate in Texas Just Hit the Market for $5.5 Million

Between its main and pool houses, the Beaumont property offers up to 22,000-square-feet of living space.

The site of the largest oil boom in U.S. history and a key location in the Texas Revolution, the city of Beaumont is full of stories and Colonial Revival-style homes to boot. So this Georgian-style abode, with its bevy of amenities, stands out from the crowd in more ways than one; now listed for $5.45 million, the sprawling digs at 6 Estates of Montclaire feels suited to a royal court.

Georgian architecture was popularized in England during the era of four British monarchs—starting with King George I—and gradually made its way to Colonial America. This newly listed residence was built in 2001, so it’s not an 18th-century original, of course, but the main house spans nearly 19,000 square feet, making it synonymous with homes of the time, which were larger than Colonials from their scale to their window sizes. On and off the market since 2013, the property includes a pool house that expands your total living space to 22,000 square feet.

Seven bedrooms and 14 bathrooms are spread across the property, which is set within a private gated enclave. Parisian interior-design influences adorns the foyer, such as detailed crown moldings and arched entryways. The formal living room sits further in the space, with a wood-burning fireplace set beneath a double-height ceiling. Wrought-iron railing complements the space, next to French doors that open out to a covered patio. Patinaed wooden cabinetry and red-brick displays in the nearby kitchen add to the home’s character.

The primary bedroom isn’t the home’s most exciting space, but its arched doorways that open out to the backyard fill it with natural light. Doric style columns and steps encompass the soaking tub in its ensuite bath, however, giving it a more distinguished appeal. As for those amenities, you’ll find a wood-paneled office, an entertainment room with island storage space, and an 8K movie theater that features a 130-inch screen. The fully equipped gym and resort-style outdoor pool, along with a spa, offer additional relaxation among lush landscaping.
