Dave Grohl’s Daughter Violet Shares First Instagram Post Since Her Dad’s Secret Baby Announcement 

The 18-year-old appeared to have deactivated her account in September after the Foo Fighters rocker announced he’d welcomed a fourth daughter outside of his marriage

Dave Grohl‘s daughter Violet is back on Instagram.

On Wednesday, Oct. 23, the 18-year-old posted her first photos on the social media platform since Grohl, 55, revealed he’d welcomed a fourth daughter outside of his marriage to wife Jordyn Blum.

Following the Foo Fighters frontman’s Sept. 10 post, Violet appeared to deactivate her Instagram account, before returning to post a carousel of images, including a dark photo of a building, an image of a gig and a selfie showing the teenager with black hair.

Violet donned a black bra and some silver necklaces in the snap, teaming the gothic glam look with a classic dark red lip.

Violet then shared another selfie on her Instagram Stories, showing herself pouting with one eye closed as Bauhaus’ “Silent Hedges” played in the background.

Grohl shares Violet and his two other daughters, Ophelia, 10, and Harper, 15, with his wife Blum, 48, whom he married in 2003.

Through the years, Grohl has spoken openly about parenthood and proudly introduced Violet to the stage during Foo Fighters’ performance at Glastonbury Festival in June 2023.

Performing a track from his band’s latest album, But Here We Are, Grohl said as Violet appeared on stage: “My favorite singer in the world.”

“This is a song I wrote for my mother, Violet’s grandmother. This is ‘Show Me How,’ ” he added, before yelling, “That’s my girl!”

“I love it when you’re on stage with your daughter and you hit a bad note,” he also joked.

The rocker made headlines last month after announcing he had welcomed “a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage” in a statement posted to social media.

“I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness,” he wrote. “We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”

A source told PEOPLE earlier this month that Blum was still “not in great shape” following the news and hasn’t been wearing her wedding ring. Grohl has also been spotted out without his band.

In the days after the news emerged, an insider told PEOPLE Blum had known “for a while” about Grohl’s baby announcement.

“She was shocked when she found out about the baby. Her friends are like family, and they rallied around her,” a friend of the interior designer also added at the time.
